Overview of the Course
Santosha is proud to offer a 200 Hour Intensive Yoga Teacher Training Program, starting on 1st November and ending on 7th December. The course includes a week off (22nd - 28th November) so students can catch their breath, study, absorb, work together in groups, travel a little or surf on Byron Bay's beautiful beaches. 

This Teacher Training is in residential housing and the price includes shared accommodation at Tallows Beach Houses. The property is absolute beach frontage in Byron Bay. For those who wish to stay elsewhere, live locally, or would prefer not to share, please let us know.

Santosha believes the path to becoming a professional yoga teacher is a unique, satisfying and life-affirming journey. The foundational (200hr) program is ideal for serious students of yoga and for aspiring teachers. It is taught by Sunny Richards-Glasser (E-RYT 200) who is an experienced yoga teacher with a broad background in implementing and conducting teacher trainings in many areas of fitness and sports. Jean Campbell (Cert IV), Zoe Trenwith (Snr Yoga Teacher),  Ashish Bahugua ( Advanced Yoga Teacher, India) and others. 

The focus of this program is to provide students with the appropriate training to successfully and safely teach yoga as based on the eight-limb path. Classes are taught in English, but translation in Japanese and/or Chinese will be available as necessary. 

Students who complete the 200-hour teacher-training program will: 

  • Be qualified to teach yoga and will receive a letter of completion and Diploma evidencing your training at the 200 Hour level.
  • You may also register with the Yoga Alliance (www.yogaalliance.org) at the RYT-200 level (Registered Yoga Teacher 200).
  • Deepen and strengthen their practise and understanding of yoga
  • Gain in-depth understanding of the postures and how to teach them
  • Receive individual attention
  • Learn how to structure and create a cohesive, well-rounded class
  • Practise teaching and adjusting
  • Learn about the various styles of yoga and its history
  • Acquire an understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology
  • Build relationships with world class yoga teachers
  • Have the confidence and tools to begin teaching yoga
  • Develop a greater understanding of meditation

Eligibility

Santosha's Yoga's Teacher Training is open to everyone. You must posses a strong desire to learn and grow in the teachings of yoga, and you should have some form of ongoing yoga practise. The course is an intimate and intense program that allows you to integrate yoga training into your daily life. You are supported in "living the yogic lifestyle" as your practise becomes a part of your life. You will develop a firm foundation in the science and art of facilitating a yoga practise, both personally and professionally. Through your own experience and the mentoring you will receive, you will be prepared to safely, intelligently, compassionately and confidently teach yoga.
