Come and immerse yourself in all that our yoga and surf retreat has to offer.
Escape the demands of everyday life, the
winter blues and enjoy pure yoga with Sunny Richards-Glasser. You'll have
plenty of time for reflection; sun-drenched
swimming sessions in the emerald
ocean, where dolphins play. Or choose to meditate on the beautiful, clean
beaches of Byron Bay;
nourish your body with delicious
vegetarian meals made from fresh
local produce; and enjoy the views and sounds of the Pacific
Ocean outside your door.
Our chosen accommodations are at Tallow
Beach Houses . (However, if you wish to stay elsewhere, just let us know.
Remember, this is your vacation….)
If you do choose to stay onsite, we have
everything you need, from our brand-new, light-filled yoga pavilion to the bungalows
nestled in the natural bush, the beach at your door.
Because the property is directly on the beach,
surrounded by nothing but nature, your practise and your senses will awaken
gently and peacefully. You can lie in the hammock after your amazing yoga and
surf sessions, meander down the sand track to eat a fulfilling healthy meal,
laugh with new companions, and immerse yourself in the warm ocean waters. Or,
if you're filled with the desire for adventure, you can easily explore all that
Bryon Bay has to offer. It's a tropical
paradise where the rainforest meets the ocean, the nightlife is ongoing, and an
array of activities is available to suit your needs.
You will have fun meeting new friends, forming lasting
relationships and deepening existing ones, eating amazing foods, surfing and
practicing yoga every day. Your senses will be awakened and nourished by the
sound of the Pacific Ocean, the sight of the
brightly coloured lorikeets and the song of the kookaburra and magpie. You'll
feel a new connection to your mind, body and spirit, and you will be fully
renewed and restored. You'll also learn how to cope with life's pressures and
demands so that your body is not constantly under stress after you leave us.
How the retreat unfolds
The morning sessions includes a harmonious
fusion of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga weaved together with flowing Vinyasas that is suitable for a complete beginner or
an advanced Yogi. For beginners, we'll take it slowly and teach a strong
foundation on which to build a lasting yoga practise.
In the afternoon, your yoga sessions will be
quieter, restoring your centre after an active day. Sessions will emphasise
restorative yoga, including deep stretching and relaxation.. Sessions will also
include pranayama, breathing techniques, meditation, Yoga Nidra - guided
relaxation, chanting, and therapeutic
healing. It's a great way to deepen your personal practise, calm the mind and
cleanse the body of toxins. All activities are optional so you can do as much
or as little as you like. It's a perfect opportunity to reflect and re-evaluate
your life purpose.
After morning yoga, you may choose to explore,
rest, walk or swim on the beach or head off to your next adventure with one of
the optional acitivies. Sunny's goal for this week is that you gain a new
level of expertise that enhances your practise when you return home, but also
that you make sure you reconnect with yourself and have a memorable vacation.
Sunny's
attention to individual needs and detail of instruction will leave you feeling
inspired, nurtured and empowered—and the techniques the retreat gives you will
help you lead a healthier lifestyle once you return home.
We believe that busy people want a place to
unwind and recharge while being inspired. With this in mind, we have carefully
chosen the Beach Tallow Houses, which provide a quality experience. We want you
to feel relaxed and at home at all times.
We believe that the effect of our retreats is one of rejuvenation and
well-being that stays with you long after your return home. Whether you are
male or female; travelling solo or with a partner, friends or family; we invite
you to develop your practise, meet likeminded people, have fun and return to
your everyday life transformed.
The Food
During the retreat,
you'll be nourished with health-giving vegetarian meals. At Santosha, we
specialize in fresh menus created from nutritious, organic where possible whole
foods and juices that will nurture your body and soul and promote optimal
health during your stay. You'll leave inspired to make healthy improvements to
your diet. All dietary requirements can and will be catered to.
Relax and restore
Pampering treatments, holistic therapies, and
healings are offered as optional extras. The choice is up to you! Massage
therapists will be available onsite and will come either to your room or to an
open cabana. Remember that you'll need to book these the day prior.
Guided meditation and nature activities are also
available during the week. We have chosen our accommodations with care so that
the tranquil environment will soothe your soul and lift your spirit.
Child-Minding
We at Santosha know the importance and
needs of family. We understand how important it is for mums and dads to have
some fun time together to reunite and restore. If you wish to bring your
children along so both of you can enjoy the retreat, we can arrange the perfect
person to mind your family and alleviate any stress.
You don't speak English
No problem … we have a Japanese/Chinese
interpreter if needed. Just make sure you let us know!
