ASHISH BAHUGUNA, Yoga Instructor
Ashish
Bahuguna possesses depth of knowledge and experience way beyond his
years. He has been practising yoga since he was 3 yrs old and speaks
English, Hindi and Chinese. He studied and practised Yoga at The Ved
Niketan Yoga Training centre in Rishikesh, The Shivananda Yoga centre
(under the supervision of Swami Vishwaroopanandjee) and The Prarmarth
Niketan Ashram (including studies in Hatha and Iyengar). He has also
completed the Advance Teacher Trianing course at Rishikesh Yoga and a
Vipanasa Meditation course in Dehradun India.
Since 2006 Ashish has been teaching Ashtanga, Hatha,
Vinyasa and Iyengar yoga in India. He also held the position of Senior
Yoga Teacher at the Yogi Yoga Center conducting Yoga Teacher Trainings.
Ashish was awarded “Best Yoga Teacher” by the Center in China in 2007
and demonstrated poses for Yoga Journal in August 2007. Ashish is
dedicated to refining his yoga teaching skills and has a deep passion
to share the art of yoga by teaching others. He brings warmth and a
sense of fun to his teachings. He is thrilled to be a part of Santosha
and is honoured to have the opportunity to assist students in finding
their own path.

Arvind Zanje, Yoga Instructor
Arvind comes to the Santosha team from India’s well
known Yoga Club, having instructed yoga
there for the past eight years. He studied yoga in Calcutta
and in Gujarat and has also spent time teaching in the United States.
He enjoys practicing yoga at every opportunity so that he can better impart his
knowledge to his students. Arvind has conducted research linking yoga to
reduced mental stress and as a healing art for diabetes, asthma and cancer. He
holds all India Yoga Federation (AIYF ) Certifications in Hatha Yoga as an
instructor. Arvind has worked with an international, diverse base of clients in
his journey and has been teaching for the past ten years. His strengths include
his expertise in Advanced Asana, Meditation, Pranyam (Breathing Exercise) and Yogic
Kriyas. Arvind feels that Santosha embraces the essence of yoga and is honored
to be a part of something that creates change for the better.

JEAN CAMPBELL, Yoga Instructor
Jean
Campbell has been practicing yoga since 1994. As a qualified yoga teacher, Jean
has been running yoga teacher training courses in Australia for the last four
years and is currently involved in workshops and teacher training's both at home
and internationally. She has taught and practiced various styles including
Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and pre and post natal yoga. With a great interest
in the many aspects of yoga, Jean has travelled to India several times. She
continues to further her study in Anatomy, Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy. Jean's
Anatomy teaching emphasises core strength and stability. She loves Yoga because
it is such an effective system for cultivating awareness, strength &
flexibility, at the same time stilling & calming the
mind.

LENTINE ZEHLER, Yoga Instructor
In 2005, Lentine and her
husband moved to Okinawa, Japan, from the United States. It was on this
tiny island that she met Sunny, director of Santosha. That's when
Lentine's 10-year journey into yoga, athletics, social ecology and
travel culminated in the beginning of an entirely new journey in search
of the meaning of balance. Her personal practice grew into a new
profession as a yoga instructor, and surfing logically became a new
pastime. Together these passions infused a new sense of peace,
connection and acceptance into her life.
Being asked to become part of the Santosha team was a wonderful
opportunity to continue doing what she loves. Lentine looks forward to
imparting her knowledge and helping others achieve balance in their
lives |

OLIVER & ALICIA, Yoga Instructors
Oliver and Alicia have dedicated their lives to healthy, outdoor living. Whether
it’s on the yoga mat, surfing in the ocean, or hiking through the jungle, this
couple’s energy is boundless. Their love for life and each other come through in
their teaching.
With over 30 years combined yoga experience, they have
travelled and taught yoga in Asia for over a decade. Their style of teaching is
an eclectic fusion of various styles, namely Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Viniyoga.
Oliver completed the YW teacher training with Lisa Walford and Maty Ezraty in
1999 and released his “Feel Good Yoga” DVD in 2005. Apart from teaching yoga,
Alicia has also studied and taught Pilates and is a licensed acupuncturist,
herbalist and nutritional counsellor. Presently, they live and teach yoga on a
rural island in Japan, occasionally travelling and facilitating teacher
trainings, workshops and surfing safaris.
For both Oliver and
Alicia, Santosha encompasses their beliefs and their lifestyle. A teacher
training with this dynamic duo (now trio with their newborn baby girl, Olivia),
is sure to be as fun as it is intensive and transformative. Oliver and Alicia
know that their broad base of yoga and wellness experience combined with their
friendly nature ensure will ensure Santosha students will experience a rich,
rewarding and joyful journey.

ZOË TRENWITH, Yoga Intructor & Massage Therapist
Zoë Trenwith has
been practicing yoga since 2003. Zoë first came to yoga after suffering
injuries in a car accident but yoga quickly changed her life. She set
about learning as much as she could both for herself and, as a qualified yoga teacher, she aims to help others along
their individual journeys. Zoë’s journey in yoga has taken her to Bali and India and led to her move to Byron Bay,
where she has worked as a yoga teacher as well as on teacher trainings. She has
practiced various styles including Ashtanga, Power Vinyasa, Iyengar and Hatha.
As well as being a qualified yoga teacher Zoë is also a qualified Personal
Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Thai Massage therapist and Massage Therapist. Zoë feels that Santosha’s foundings are true to her beliefs and
ethics in her Yoga journey. Zoë feels strongly about her connection with
Santosha and knows she has an abundance to offer.

LOUISE BONNY, Surf Instructor and Personal Trainer
Louise grew up on the northern beaches and has always had a love for the ocean. Surfing became her passion at an early age and, after she completed a degree in Exercise Science, her love of surfing took her on various adventures, visiting overseas destinations including Indonesia, the Canary Islands, France, England, South Africa and California. She has competed in both surf and snowboarding competitions and has been a surf coach for some 16 years. She loves to share her passion for the ocean and surfing with others. |

DAMON HODGE, Surf Instructor
Damon hails from Sydney but grew his sea legs when he moved to Queensland, where he honed his skills on the fun waves in the southeast region. His passion for waves lead him to Tasmania in search for quality, uncrowded surf, and he resides there now, regularly making the journey north to warmer climates to thaw out. Damon was state champion and still competes to stay on his game. It is the journey that's most important in all aspects of life for Damon, however, and it's this attitude that he brings to Santosha. His mission is to put a smile on your dial, and he certainly lives by that rule. Damon is well travelled and welcomes your spirit to the healing qualities of our oceans.

JASON RAWNSLEY, Chef
Jason has been working in Byron Bay for more than 10 years, since he moved from South Australia in search of better surf. He has been involved in several successful restaurants in Byron Bay, the latest being Mokha, a laid-back lounge/café where one can sit and enjoy the Byron life passing by. His philosophy is simple: clean healthy food with an emphasis on contrasting textures, colours and flavours to excite the senses. He is passionate about giving people an exciting experience when they see, smell and taste their food. Jason loves to cook and stay healthy and fit with yoga and surf, so joining Santosha was a natural choice.

TRISH McCARTHY, Massage Therapist
Trish has
always lived on and loved the coast, from Brighton and Inverloch in
Victoria to Byron and Lennox Head in NSW. She has practiced yoga for
many years and loves to develop her understanding of its many facets,
bringing mind, body and soul into health and harmony.
Trish has a background in teaching but has gradually taken her
interests in nutrition and massage to a professional level. As part of
the Santosha team, Trish uses her skills as a Swedish massage therapist
to create a tranquil atmosphere in which her caring hands will nurture
and restore your whole body to bliss.

TAMARA GILLET, Naturopath and Remedial Massage Therapist
Tamara has a strong passion for preventive health care and believes
that the secret to happiness and vitality is a healthy diet, regular
exercise, plenty of sunshine and a sensible supplemental regime. Tamara
is a qualified Vitality, Longevity and Healthy-Aging practitioner,
actively reversing the aging process through technology and lifestyle
choices. Tamara specialises in fat loss, detoxification, healthy aging
and muscular correction. She has lived in Byron all of her life and
loves its healing energy.
Tamara is known as one of the best massage therapists and
naturopaths in the area and is dedicated to continuing her education so
she can be of more help to more people. Tamara joyfully decided to
become part of the Santosha team, as it embraces everything she
believes in. Tamara hopes to restore and relax you after your yoga and
surfing sessions and if you desire, show you how you can become even
healthier.
